Passadena Real Gun Show

Post by Kevinf2349 »

I know this question has probably been asked and answered before but...

My wife and I are heading to the 'Real Gun Show' tomorrow and we were wondering what we can expect in terms of our carry weapons?

Will we have to check them in? Will we be better off dropping the mags out in the vehicle and carrying empty guns into the show? Should we just leave the weapong secured in the vehicle? What is the protocol?

I have only ever been to one gun show and that was before my CHL and in Arizona so getting through the door wasn't an issue.

Thnak you for your time and sorry if this has been asked and answered before. :tiphat:

We normally leave the magazines and ammo in our vehicle and let the officer at the door zip-tie our empty pistol(s) at the entrance. He will cut the zip-tie off as we leave.

That's far better than leaving the guns and ammo in the car.

Thank you sir :tiphat:

That is what we shall do.

Just one more question.....if they are ziptied does that mean I have to carry them around openly thereafter?

We may leave our BUGs at home rather than look like Ma & Pa Kettle toting four guns around...although I guess at a gun show we will blend right in! "rlol" .

I was at a show this weekend and a ton were carrying concealed but zipped tied. I kept looking at all the conceal holsters so they were all doing demos as they were all wearing there product but were concealed.

I can't wait to get to the show. I will be like a kid in a candy store.

The shopping list is pretty short as we are mostly 'geared up' but I would like to maybe get a Crimson Trace for Elsie Pea and hopefully a J frame or a rifle....but don't tell the Mrs "rlol"

Me too....depending on what I am 'browsing'.

What time are you going to be there? I have a feeling that there is a gun there that is just ready to catch my eye and not let me leave without her....like the feeling I used to get every school dance I went to except of course they weren't guns.....oh and that I never actually went home with one! ...so nothing like a school dance really! Well you guys have fun! I wish I was going with you. :???: I KNOW you'll have a good time. I'm ready to go to the next gun show. :clapping:

I didn't mention this in my post about going to the Ft.Worth show last week, but when I got there the LEO at the check in table looked at both of my pistols, tie wrapped them and I went inside. Looking to do something with the Ruger, I carried it for a time in my hands until I got tired of it. So I dug my field holster out of the bag I was lugging around, put the holster on my belt, and open carried it for 3 hours. Of course nobody saw the Ruger so no deals were struck except one guy who wanted to do a straight up trade for a Taurus large frame .357, which I passed up.
