Pocket holster draw video

Post by j1132s »

I recorded a video of me drawing from my pocket holster. I've included 2 draws: conditions where my hand is outside/or already inside the pocket.

I started conceal carry w/ an IBW holster but couldn't stand having my shirt untucked, so I went w/ a pocket holster. It is very convenient and the only issues regarding drawing is when I'm sitting or in a crouching position, in those cases I have to straighten my right leg just a bit before drawing.

Also, another holster I'm now carrying is the fanny pack holster, which is also very convenient. But it isn't as comfortable as the pocket one.

Edit: Noticed that I wrote "not" instead of "now".

First thought: it's kinda thick for pocket carry.

Second thought: I doubt you'll find a quality pocket holster for it, and it would be foolish to carry a 1911 in anything less than a quality holster.

By "quality", I mean one that is designed to prevent the thumb safety from being unintentionally disengaged.

The Wart Hog is a bit thick but not unreasonable so.

With normal cut cargo shorts the gun disappears into my front pocket.
