Residence history??
Hi everyone. I will be taking my CHL class soon and decided to get the process going by applying online at the Texas DPS website for my application packet. My problem is regarding the residence history section. My permanent address is my parents address which is where i currently live. I moved back home after going to college from 2002-2007. SInce my parents address is what has been on my license for the past five years, do i need to include the addresses of the places i lived while in college as well?

Re: Residence history??
No.
Your residence is the place where you live, conduct your business, file your taxes, etc. Anywhere else that you may lay your head is a temporary domicile. That is the legal term. However, I am not a lawyer and am not qualified to give legal advice.

Re: Residence history??
Welcome to the forum. There are lots of knowledgeable people here. Until one of them proves me wrong, I'll say that your residence of record while you were in college was where you received bills and mail and were registered to vote (if you were). Where you laid your head at night while at college was just a temporary location.
Re: Residence history??
Hmmm. I believe i was registered to vote in Austin while at school. In addition, i received bank statements, etc at those places as well and had my name on 2 separate leases.

Re: Residence history??
Well, now the issue is more complicated.
I would say that if you left a legal record such as registering to vote, list the addresses and let the dice fall. It will all get straightened out eventually. Béxar County does not seem to be a problem.

Do you have a DL and if so, what is the address thereon?cubbyjg wrote:Hmmm. I believe i was registered to vote in Austin while at school. In addition, i received bank statements, etc at those places as well and had my name on 2 separate leases.
Re: Residence history??
My dl has my permanent address. I'm leaning more to include my past addresses because some of my work history occurred during college as well
