Include a letter from the court clerk showing the disposition, or stating no record was found.

Hi TalktexanBBQ, welcome to the forum!

boomerang is correct. You need to send in certified court "disposition" of your arrest record with your application packet.

By filing out the online app you can begin the process. Actually you are filling out a request for an application packet. But you have the ability to list any offenses you have been arrested for.

DPS will send you a packet of forms for you to review and fill out. It's about 20 pages if I remember correctly.

But self declaring any arrests on the online app gets you one step ahead of the game. When it comes time to send it to DPS after your CHL class, you then provide them with additional information, with the certified court documents.

The online app is just the first step in the process. Basically, all you are doing is typing in your info instead of handwriting it on the paper app.

After DPS processes your payment, they will mail you an application package which includes the printed app that you filled in online, 3 affidavits to be notarized, 2 fingerprint cards, and a signature card. You will get all those filled out, add your class completion certificate, and your copies of the dispostion of your case and send it back.

So, sometime before you send in your completed app, you will need to contact the county criminal court clerk in the county where your case was processed for that paperwork.
