Anyone have any reviews of the STAG's? Looked at one at GT today for $799.

Did it have fixed front sight post or was it "optics ready"? Just curious, I'm thinking about changing either my upper or my whole AR at some point to one that allows for flip up front sight ... front sight is distracting when looking through my eotech

I've heard good things about Stag Arms, but no first-hand knowledge. The seem to be reasonably priced, along the lines of Rock River, DPMS etc.

I have a model 1L, in the left handed version (I bought it just for that). I've put about 800 through it so far with no real problems. It's remarkably accurate with just the iron sights and a joy to shoot.

Only minor prob I've encountered is that it's sometimes a bit fussy about chambering the first round, with a full 30rd mag, though the forward assist has fixed that on all but three occasions.

I have a model 2L also. I waited almost all of last year just to find one. And when I do I find 3 on the same day. But I got a really good deal on it and have not regretted it yet. I only have 20 rounds through mine so I can't help a whole lot on giving you an opinion other than so far so good. But I have heard lots of good things about Stag.

Buy with confidence. I have a model 2T and my friend has a model 2. Both are very accurate and have not had a single problem (probably around 2K rounds combined).

I put at least 2000 trouble free, low maintenance rounds through mine before selling it to a friend. Great guns with a pretty solid introwebz reputation, if that matters to you... Buy with confidence.
