I'm sick of it, just sick of it.

I'm sick of it, just sick of it.
Listening to Rush on my lunch break today, he had a caller say something stupid to which he replied something less than stellar and kinda untrue.
I'm sick of the Political divide in this country. Democrats arent the monsters people make them out to be and Republicans arent either. We are all just people! Yeah there are your Barney Franks and Pat Buchanan out there, but they are the extremes.
I think driving us apart is the goal for both sides because it makes it easier to get away with all the crud they pull on us. Then when they screw up or screw us over they can point to the other sides biggest jerk and say "See what he made me do".
Rant over

I sympathize with your sentiments here, however, I also believe that there are those that are not considered "extreamists" who would gladly take our sacred God-given right to defend ourselves. I look at other issues, but for me, the ultimate "litmus test" is how they deal with the RKBA issue. For me, everything else is static.
Re: I'm sick of it, just sick of it.
I agree with you. I also would add that I think the majority of "Gun Grabbers" do it because the deep down think it will help. I doubt there are many out there who truly want to disarm people so they can repress them.GrayGhost wrote:I sympathize with your sentiments here, however, I also believe that there are those that are not considered "extremists" who would gladly take our sacred God-given right to defend ourselves. Something along the lines of "Always beware of people promising utopias. They're the most likely to start errecting gallows to achieve it."
Basically, what I'm saying is a lot of terrible evil is done in this world in the name of "helping".

Yep. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that, right this minute, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Moore were sitting together, drinking cocktails and laughing at us all.marksiwel wrote:I think driving us apart is the goal for both sides because it makes it easier to get away with all the crud they pull on us. politically speaking, "moderation and compromise" equates to sacrificing one's principles.
Personally, I think I'll just continue to be considered an extremist!

Rush is talking about politicians and I agree. There are no moderate democrats. They are all trying to shove obamacare down our throats.

I respectfully disagree and I believe this is what marksiwel is talking about. I believe you may feel this way because you've never met a moderate democrat. I am aware of at least one democrat on this board that had publicly announced his political disposition but still likes his guns. That's pretty moderate to me.SkydiverRick wrote:Rush is talking about politicians and I agree. There are no moderate democrats. They are all trying to shove obamacare down our throats.
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson

hmmmm.... I've split my ticket several times. Because I felt the D candidate was better qualified and more closelykarl wrote:I respectfully disagree and I believe this is what marksiwel is talking about. aligned with my beliefs. Granted, mainly on the local level.
However, Obamacare IS being forced down our throats, more bailout is on the current agenda,
and I want none of either. I don't like the way BHO has apologized for Americas role in world events. I'm scared to
death of the socialist agenda that is being pushed. Make no mistake, it is a Socialist agenda.
Under party political pressure, I think some moderate D's are being "whipped" into the party line. Too bad they're
more concerned with their jobs/party backing than with serving their constituencies. But that seems to be the
existing way in DC, R's included.

I agree it may not be their desire, but I do believe repression is the result, whether it was intended or not.
