Help With old 22 wheel gun

Hello all, I have an old pistol that I inherited from my grandfather. Here are the Pics.

Can anyone give me any information on this pistol. I would like some info on the manufacturer and approximate value. I am not looking to sell it I would just like to know what I have. Thanks for the help.

With a quick search i was able to find they are worth about 120.00 in top condition. And not really anything if not in top condition, They also are suppossed to be very easy to keep running for a long time.

Decent, inexpensive shooters, not collectibles.
Cast alloy frames IIRC.
Probably the Heritage Arms pistols of their day.

Keep it because of where it came from.. not for what it's worth...

I have my Grand father's old Stevens Model 15 .22 single shot and I wouldn't take anything for it.. I think my grand father paid something like 5.00 for it if I remember his stories correctly ..

I dont plan on getting rid of it, Like you said, I am keeping it because of it's histoy in my family, not because of it's value.

.22 Magnum is pushing the limits for an RG's metallurgy. You're wise to keep it for an heirloom, but don't ever trust it as a gun.

I doubt your grandfather paid over $50 for it, MSRP brand new. They were aimed at the low income market, meant to be loaded once and fired only in emergencies.

I have a similar "Texas Scout" .22 S, L, or LR single action revolver, inherited from my grandfather. It's VERY similar to the Colt Frontier Scout. When we took one of each to the range, the cheaper gun felt and shot much better. Granted, my father had cleaned up the trigger a little and the gun had been well broken in. The Colt had a prettier finish, for what that's worth.

The off-brand revolver wouldn't bring much money, but it's a good shooter. To me that's value. It's dead reliable, easy to operate, and reasonably accurate once you get used to the skinny fixed sights.

I'd probably give it a good cleaning, function check, and lookover, find some basic ammunition for it, and give it a chance.
