Interesting concept that's cheaper than some other options. I wonder if it's available if you're not traveling with United?

Answered my own question on their 'details' site.

The Door-to-Door Baggage option is available for customers traveling on United Airlines flights within the 48 contiguous United States. This option becomes available 10 days prior to the associated flight departure date.

No, I don't work for United. I work for one of their competitors. Maybe more airlines can pick up on this and we can avoid the kind of problem discussed in another thread.

Looks like an interesting concept. It would definitely make traveling much lighter - my wallet too! I almost always end up flying American or Southwest out of Dallas though.
