Post by Fire1141 »

Has anyone taken their chl class at Alvin comm college? I was wondering if they handled prints, pics, and app. I have asked via email and left messages and no word

No, I didn't... I took my class from Tom Estep (El Gato here on the forum). He was competitively priced and an excellent instructor. The whole thing was done in a long day (0800-1930). :thumbs2:

I did look into COM and ACC but I couldn't find good info.

If you want to consider El Gato, his web site is http://www.tomestepshooting.com/.

Best luck!

Typically, the instructor will provide the affidavits, do the fingerprinting, notary, CHL-100 form, etc. so you are probably ok but it wouldn't hurt to email them for clarification. Welcome to the forum. It's outstanding! :tiphat:

I took my original and past renewals at ACC and each time the finger prints, photos and such were done there. Then I assembled my paperwork and sent it off.

When I called COM, I was told the CHL class was $80, plus $29 if you want them to do the fingerprints and photos. So I opted to take the class with El Gato for $95, all inclusive.

I did mine there and it was all handled in-house. To me thats mostly what went on in "class", the class part was quickly gone thru and not much info imparted. Due to peoples inability to follow instructions the paperwork took hours to get completed.
