Does a properly posted 30.06 prevent CHL holder from still carrying ammo? I would prefer not leaving my magazines and ammo with my weapon (in case of theft) when I have to leave it in the car due to a properly posted 30.06 business.
Thanks,
Ron

im not a lawyer but i would think it would be okay. Ammo is like car keys. Its only useful with the machine it was made for.

Re: Carry Ammo in 30.06 Premises
PC 30.06 reads "Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun"
Nothing is said about ammo, holsters, magazines; just no handgun.

Keith,
I should have added that I am more concerned about taking a ride as I agree about the statute wording about it being a handgun that is prohibited. Specifically, I run into the problem when making hospital visits. Some here in Ft. Worth are properly posted, others are not.
Thanks,
Ron
