Added a .45 to the safe.......

Post by age_ranger »

I'll be the first one to tell you I love the PX4 series. The pistols are awesome shooters and their low price, high capacity and ease of maintenance are what keeps them in my safe, on my hip and in my hands. That being said, it's no wonder there's a PX4 in this thread. I picked up this PX4SD from Brad Taylor. Great transaction all around. The pistol comes with a 9 round flush fit and 2-10 round extended baseplate mags. All three are treated with Beretta's PVD coating and look/feel great. Probably my favorite of all the PX4 mags so far. The internals are also given this treatment but the production model barrel is black. There is a double recoil spring setup on this one. The standard .45 PX4 has a single spring This one also has the standard white 3 dot sights. Currently, .45acp PX4 mags with the PVD coating are NOT being imported so the only way to get them is to buy the pistol or convince someone with one to give them up.......haha, not a chance!!:)

The case is really nice. It's a very heavy weight case (Pelican) that closes firmly leaving no doubt that your firearm is protected. Best case I have ever gotten with a firearm, hands down. Accessories provided were great as well. The pistol came with the medium back strap and mag release installed with small and large back strap and mag release in the case along with cleaning kit, paperwork and oil. It'd be great to be able to buy extra cases as I'd love one for my 9mm with ammo storage underneath. Overall, the pistol finish is great, as is the PVD finish on the internals and mags. Definitely a great package. Beretta should really go all out with these kits for the PX4 series. It's a tiny step up they need to do to get ahead in the industry for starters. Without further ado...........

Ok, am I seeing things or is the pistol floating in the first pic?

I love the PX4. For some reason, it is my most accurate handgun. I have no idea why because the sights, grip, trigger and slide to frame fit is not near as good as those of my other handguns. But for whatever reason, I can run a ragged hole with my PX4 better than any gun I own. In fact, in my CHL class I had a nice 3-4" group for all distances. Everyone in the class wanted to know what I was shooting and how long I've been shooting. I tried to tell them that it was the gun, but no one believed me.

Yeah, a little fishing line and some photoshop work makes it appear to float in the foreground. :thumbs2:

I carry/compete/range shoot with the PX4G 9mm and love it. I've found it to be very accurate and reliable. I shot over 5000 rounds (without cleaning) with my first one without any issues and then shot a regional IDPA match with it. I owned the sub compact and accuracy was superb. I managed to shoot about a 4" group when qualifying for my CHL renewal but sold it because I thought it was too fat for carry. This addition.....the .45acp will be a safe queen for a bit. I'm patiently awaiting info from Beretta on numbers produced. So far I've heard that this single run (probably 2000) will be it and no other PVD coated mags will be imported. There's also an OD green PX4 version out as well.........

When I decide to unleash this beast, she'll be getting the barrel threaded and a GemTech can.
