C&R Discounts

Post by pbwalker »

I finally got my 03 FFL in the mail today! I plan on making 50 copies or so and storing the original.

So for all you crufflers, what sites / stores offer discounts to 03 FFL's? I know Brownells does, but am sure there are more!

Thanks!

I believe Midway USA does.

Congrats on the C&R. Any particular C&R weapons you have your eye on?

I've been wanting one for a while, just never really took the time to do it.

Besides already having the lowest prices, Graf & Sons.

I believe I can locate a suggested list on one of the forums.

Gotcha. Even with just discounts, the C&R pays for itself very quickly.

What is a 03 C&R anyway? I had a FFL back in 1984 for a few years when i was in the AF in New mexico...worked out of my house,
Sold guns to all my freinds and even the First Sgt. Seems like everyone had one then, ShotGun News ads deals etc. I bought a lot from Sports South , Midway, J&G...ones i remember best.Seems like some place in Dallas Ft. Worth also...I delt in relaoding supplies also.

A Curios & Relics licence allows you to purchase firearms so designated by the BATFE and have them shipped directly to you without the need for a transfer dealer. Designation may be based on age (over 50 years) or by decision, as the CZ-82 was added to the list a couple of years ago without meeting the age criteria.

The cost is $30/ 3 years. You must maintain records similar to, but possibly less detailed than, what you kept as an FFL. What you can sell is severely limited, as you are not permitted to operate as a dealer, only as a collector. You are permitted to sell to improve your collection, but it should not appear that you are selling as a dealer.

On the conservative end, say you buy a Mauser 98k and later buy another. You would be permitted to sell one and keep the nicer one. Pushing the limit, but AFAIK, still legal, say you bought a lot of ten Mosins and only kept the nicest one or two, you could sell the rest.

Many of the dealers listed grant C&Rs the same dealer pricing as an 01 FFL. In my case, I recouped the $30 on my first Midway order.
