Re: Luckygunner.com
I bought one order from them and had no problem.
They have a reputation for accurately stating what they have in stock .
When I'm considering a business that I don't know anything about, I search the web for the company name combined with "scam," "rip off," and "suck." That will usually turn up any complaints.

Re: Luckygunner.com
I'm new to firearms and have only placed 5 online orders for ammo in total but 3 of those orders were with luckygunner.com, based on them having the lowest prices I could find.
They seem to have a good range of brands available (I've bought 38 special, 9mm, and 45 ACP from them in FMJ and JHP).
I think they ship same day if you place the order before a certain cut off time or else next day. Ground delivery from their warehouse in Ohio to Texas takes about 5 business days.
No TX sales tax. They charge for shipping. Insurance does not seem to be offered as far as I could see. If you want to sign for your order, you need to send sales@luckygunner.com an email after placing your order asking them to send the order "Signature required".
My orders have have arrived on time and correct.
Recommended.

If they don't collect Texas sales tax make sure you fill out a 01-156 form to stay legal.duns wrote:No TX sales tax. They charge for shipping. Considering the number of people who get all holier than thou when someone talks about carrying past a 30.06 sign or in a bar or at a sports event (or driving over the speed limit) I thought those people might want to know about the sales and use tax law.suthdj wrote:ya, I'll get right on that.SwimFan85 wrote:If they don't collect Texas sales tax make sure you fill out a 01-156 form to stay legal.

I think this guy has better prices. I have bought from him several times. Ships fast and friendly too.

True, I just find it amusing we have forms and laws for that. I wonder how many people really even know or use it.SwimFan85 wrote:Considering the number of people who get all holier than thou when someone talks about carrying past a 30.06 sign or in a bar or at a sports event (or driving over the speed limit) I thought those people might want to know about the sales and use tax law.suthdj wrote:ya, I'll get right on that.SwimFan85 wrote:If they don't collect Texas sales tax make sure you fill out a 01-156 form to stay legal.

Re: Luckygunner.com
I had never heard of Texas Occasional Use Tax. Thanks for drawing it to my attention. If I understand it right, out-of-state vendors don't collect TX sales taxes but the purchaser has to fill out this form and pay the same amount of tax as if they had made their purchase in Texas. Did I summarize the position correctly? I have absolutely no wish to cheat on my taxes. If this is as it appears to be, then there is no tax advantage from buying from out-of-state vendors. This makes sense in that it protects in-state vendors BUT I had always assumed that no TX sales tax when buying out of state was meant to encourage interstate commerce. I wonder how many people know of this tax?SwimFan85 wrote:If they don't collect Texas sales tax make sure you fill out a 01-156 form to stay legal.duns wrote:No TX sales tax. PS. i found a bit more information at http://www.window.state.tx.us/taxinfo/use/. It seems that even if you pay Texas tax on your purchase, if the tax rate in the vendor's area was lower than the tax rate where you live, you have to identify this discrepancy and pay over the difference. How on earth is a customer supposed to know? Vendors don't tell us what extra taxes we may owe. Are we all supposed to be experts on the minutiae of our state tax laws? (Please don't tell me ignorance of the law is no defense!)

You don't have to be a tax expert. You have to know the tax where you live and the tax you got charged. The tax you got charged should be on your receipt. If you don't know the tax where you live, you can look up the sales tax rate where you live, or buy something at a local store so you can see what they charge.duns wrote:How on earth is a customer supposed to know?
