Outstanding customer service from Kimber

Post by DaveT »

I sent my 3 year old Tactical Ultra II back to Kimber on Monday, the 28th of August by FedEx Priority Overnight because of a couple of problems.... Failure to feed last round in mag, erratic extractions and dim night sights.

Received the pistol back today by UPS Next Day Air, less than 2 weeks turn around time, and that included the Labor Day Holiday in that time period ! :)

They replaced the older external extractor slide with a brand new internal extractor slide, replaced the barrel, reamed the barrel chamber, polished the barrel chamber, polished the push rod, and replaced the front and rear night sights with new ones.

My cost ? Nothing except the shipping to Kimber.

Outstanding service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be headed to the range next week to see how everything performs.

Good news indeed. Be sure to give a range report.

I think that most of the major manufactures are going to give fairly good service in this day and age. With the internet, too much bad publicity can be circulated and can harm reputations.

I'm glad to see you post a positive experience as you tend to only hear about the negative ones.

Case and point, I had problems with a Kahr a few months back. I had heard of a lot of problems with their customer service. Sent it back, and turn around time was 2 weeks door to door. Problem solved with no other problems to report.

Great news!! I've had confidence in Kimber's CS ever since I called with a question as a non-owner, I was treated just as important as anyone else.

However that is interesting, my Kimber Tactical Ultra II also has issues feeding the last round in the mag(both with Kimber and Wilson Combat mags). Mine is only two years old, and my night sights are bright. I too have the external extractor. If its still doing it after another 200 rounds or so(that will pass the 600rd FMJ WWB mark) I'll give Kimber's CS a call.
