Great Range Experience Today

Post by Ropin »

Several months back, I took a coworker and his brother to the range and let them do some learning on my collection. Today, I got to reap the rewards of that action.

On Friday, the brother lucked into a mint condition Colt Mark IV 1911 for $800 bucks. (Yes, I'm a big enough person to admit I'm jealous!) Naturally, he wanted to try it out, so I packed up a couple of mine, and we met over at Elm Fork. We punched some holes in some paper, and I'm proud to say my previous teachings had stuck pretty well... I only had to give one booger hook reminder.

After the paper threat was thoroughly neutralized, we spent some time on the steel targets, and I introduced them to the dueling tree. The best moment of the day was when the brother paused halfway through a magazine to exclaim, "I love guns!"

Now, he's already planning his next purchase. And my coworker declared that he needed to get himself one, too.

Score 2 for the good guys.

Good job.
