Please help the NSSF know about your "Modern Sporting Rifle"

Post by OldCannon »

The NSSF is conducting a survey about what "Modern Sporting Rifles" you may have recently purchased/used. There's a lot of questions, but there's a $500 Cabela's card drawing for respondents.

(Truth in advertising: I am a member of NSSF, but have nothing to do with this survey)

For those of you who DO participate, if the aggregate results are made available, would you share them with us? I can't do the survey, as I haven't sealed the deal on a MSR yet.

AndyC, thanks for the info - you saved me some time and aggravation going to fill out the survey and getting to where they ask for a physical address. You are absolutely right, that is outrageous. If anyone can give a realistic reason, I'll eat my words and apologize.

With all due respect, not "realistic" in my book.

If one were to win something, an email address is sufficient for contact. At that point a request for a physical address is in order.

To be clear, the contest/survey rules state:
By entering Drawing, information about entrants will be captured by Organizer. The information captured includes entrants’ names, mailing addresses, email addresses and other information provided by entrants at time of entry. This information may be used by Organizer for prize notification and advertising or promotional purposes, or shared by Organizer with third parties. Entrants may be contacted by Organizer and other parties with future promotional offers about their products and/or services.
I should have mentioned this in my original post, and I apologize for anybody inconvenienced by this.

They should also fix Q5.6

Some of us don't shoot reloads, so 0% is the right answer, but the survey insists we answer at least 1%
When in doubt

. . . after filling out all the details on which rifles I have, the accessories, ammo, etc ad nauseum - they want my physical address?

I already get enough "advertising" as it is, I'll decline to take the survey.

I slogged through the multitude of questions but closed the browser window when they started asked for home address, income, etc. They already had my email address and they don't need anything more to contact me if I win. I think I'll go buy a scratch off instead.
