I followed a link posted on the NRA site http://www.wbez.org/Content.aspx?audioID=43910" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to the WBEZ web page “National Lawmakers Meet in Chicago to discuss Gun Control”.
It seems that the moderators for the comment section did not like my comments about the police chief and Richard Daley. I attempted to post a comment four times and it was rejected. It contained no profanity or any other reason to reject it except some speculation on how Daley keeps getting elected.
Go figure.

Well, I think you just experienced one way--control of who gets to express opinions.

And that explains why he keeps getting elected. Broadcasting gerrymandering at its best.

Mine too (3 or 4 tries), but it isn't a moderator issue. There's something wrong with their "Captcha" script. My submission kept getting rejected until I clicked on the little "speaker" icon and had the captcha string spoken to me. Then it accepted my submission. My comment was as follows:jimlongley wrote:My comment made it in, but only after 6 tries.
Exactly what part of the McDonald decision do Chicago politicians not understand? Exactly what part about "shall not be infringed" (the *only* constitutional amendment to contain that phrase) do Chicago politicians not understand?
@B.G., Long Island.... The 1st Amendment doesn't have that phrase "shall not be infringed." Should Chicago Public Media be required to verify your background before they can publish your remarks, if it can be proven that *your* free speech expression has only led to higher crime and more murder wherever your beliefs (which is all they are) have been implemented — whereas it can also be *proven* that cities with fewer gun restrictions have fewer murders? Then where is your vaunted compassion for "the safety of innocent Americans?" I have compassion. *Part* of my compassion is for the right of The People to breathe free, and to *be* free from oppressive government. (If you've never lived free, then you have no idea what that is like, and New York state is NOT a free state.)
Individualism has nothing to do with it. Ask the average Chicagoan if they would prefer living in a police state, or a free state. You would make your "Stormy, husky, brawling, City of the Big Shoulders" into a mewling box of kittens. So what about your compassion for human rights?
