My youngest brother and our family.

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

My youngest brother and our family.

Post by chartreuse »

He's been diagnosed with stage IV lymphoma in his bone marrow and is in a bad way. He's in his mid 30's, with two daughters.

Now, I've never believed that God is in the habit of intervening to cure our ills, or find us a parking space, or whatever. But I firmly believe that, if we ask Him, He will give us the strength to bear what must be borne.

So, I'd be very grateful for any prayers, for him and for the rest of us, that we might find the strength that we need in this trying time.

Thanks, folks.

I agree with your perspective. That's what I think of as a high-percentage prayer.

Prayers!

May his doctors' hearts, hands, and minds be guided to the Lord's will and may his nurses and other caregivers show him hospitality, preserve his dignity, and treat him with respect. If it is the Lord's will, may he be restored to the fullness of health to live for many more happy and healthy years and may all who love and depend on him have strength, courage, faith, and peace in the journey ahead. May his eventual death, however far off it may be, be peaceful, unashamed, and guiltless and may the Lord welcome him into His kingdom and comfort any who mourn his eventual passing.

Thanks, everybody.

He didn't make it, but I was fortunate to be able to visit him in hospital, while he was still alert, and give him the hug that he asked for. I've just gotten home from a second trip to England, for the funeral.

He's with his Mother and The Lord now.

I am so sorry to hear of this.

My prayers for you and your family, that God will provide strength where needed and that He will comfort you as best as is possible.

I will pray for you daily.
