Happy Thanksgiving

Post by USA1 »

Happy Thanksgiving to all my forum friends. :tiphat:

Just a small gathering for me this year...wife, kids, and mom.
We're having ham with all the sides and we'll be giving thanks for our blessings.

What are y'all doing for Thanksgiving? :bigear:

Happy Thanksgiving to you! :tiphat:

I have my BIL visiting from San Antonio. I finished cooking all of the sides today. Tomorrow I roast the turkey on the Weber and make the gravy. We'll probably eat, sleep, and eat some more. We hope to get out Friday or Saturday to hunt some of those steel plates at PSC. :fire

A happy Thanksgiving to all!

I am so thankful for what the Good Lord has provided to me - - - A wonderful wife, a great bunch of kids and grand-kids, health, (even if it isn't a good as it once was)a fantastic extended family, great friends, both actual and virtual and, living in the greatest country on Earth (warts and all).

Happy Thanksgiving to you guys too.

We're doing what we always do. We always invite all of our friends who, like us, have no family locally, and therefore no place to go on Thanksgiving, and we have a feast together. Forum member HighVelocity, who has become a good friend of mine ever since he sold me a 5" Springfield 1911 a couple of years ago, will be there with his lady and boys. A couple of neighbors from around the corner are coming, and a friend from church. There will be 10 of us, all told. It always turns out great and everyone has a great time.

We've been brining a 17 lb bird overnight, and later this morning I'll pop it in the smoker. I'll take it out at about 4:00 this afternoon. This year, we're doing it potluck style, so others are bringing dishes too. The menu includes stuffing, squash casserole, potatoes, mac & cheese, rolls, salad, green beans, home made pecan pine, pumpkin spice bunt cake, and French apple tart.

When my wife got up this morning at a little before 6 a.m., it was in the 70s, and now, a little more hour later, the temperature has dropped into the 50s. It finally feels like fall.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Eat well, count your blessings and tolerate the usual family drama that comes with the holidays.:

Happy Thanksgiving. The family is supposed to be over about noon, so we're cleaning, cooking, and watching the Thanksgiving Day parade.
