Finally got a gun belt

Post by 3dfxMM »

I finally got off my tail and bought myself a gun belt. My Comp-Tac MTAC that I have been using for almost three years is now being supported by a Comp-Tac belt. Not only is it more comfortable, but it also conceals a lot better now. I used it all day Saturday wearing shorts and a t-shirt with no issues and no over-shirt or jacket necessary.

I really wish one of you would have spoken up about this sooner. :biggrinjester:

Just curious; Did you get the Velcro sewn in option?

After I got my first one from there, I reviewed it somewhere online, and sent them a CC ... I got another roll of candy and a cap in the mail :thumbs2:

I got another so one can stay in the Sunday Pants, while I move the old one between Summer Cargo shorts (Summer) and Jeans (Winter)

I got the Velcro, and use the V-clips (Sundays) and much of the week I wear another holster with an under-belt J-clip to which I added sticky back Velcro to the under the belt J-clip on the holster. I also added sticky-back Velcro on my old Kholster's clips, and hammered them flatter, and wear those clips under my belt now so those metal clips don't scratch my purty belt, and they are also less noticeable to a reasonable person normally observing (and normal people reasonably observing).

Yeah, there are cheap belts at WalMart, but this is a different animal, like the difference in a Hummer and a one-wheeled skateboard.

When I first started carrying, I read all these posts about how I needed to get a gun belt; Dad made boots and saddles in the 1940s, I have made my own belts since the 1960s so I went to Tandy Leather, bought 2 of the thickest/stiffest belt blanks and made a belt.

Ordered my first Comp-Tac belt, put it on, wore it, ordered a second, haven't worn any other belt since, donated quite a few of my old hand-made belts to Goodwill though.

Just the J-clips. I had to get new ones since my old belt and clips were only 1.25". I also got the clips in the same color as the belt so they don't show up as much as the black clips did on my old brown belt.

Well, we're kind of a quiet bunch, don't have too much to say, and only offer advice when it's asked :biggrinjester: :smilelol5: :smilelol5: :smilelol5:

Glad the belt's working out for you. :cheers2:
