I bought myself a Glock 27 for Christmas. I have in the past noticed that my new glock magazines have stiff springs and it is difficult to get the full load of rounds loaded until the springs loosen up a bit. I just recently noticed however that my 9 round magazines on the 27 will not seat properly in the gun with 9 rounds loaded. I tried it with 8 round and it works great. I have fired about 150 rounds through the 27 without any problem there. I made sure I was loading only .40 SW and I counted the rounds to be sure I was not making a stupid mistake. Anyone have any thoughts on what this could be? It occurs in both magazines I got with purchase. Thanks in advance.

Re: Glock 27 Magazine question
As you said, stiff magazine springs. They will lighten up with use but Glock springs are tough. Leaving the mag a round short to ensure easy seating is not unusual. That extra round is no good at all if the mag won't seat or falls out when you do a mag change in a hurry.

Re: Glock 27 Magazine question
Congratulations on an outstanding purchase.
I am a huge baby glock fan and have and carry a glock 27 and a glock 26. I had the same problem that you described initially with my 27.
The answer is to use your glock frequently. As far as I am concerned there is only one logical answer to this problem - go to the range more often and have a blast loading your mags and sending .40 rounds down range
. I am envious of your situation
.
In all seriousness some answers to loosen up your mag are to fully load it using the provided speed loader that comes with all new glocks (it will take some elbow grease though), keep your mags fully loaded to loosen the springs, and take it to the range (to load and unload the mags).
I hope that you find this helpful. If you can not force the ninth round into the chamber, you are still not under gunned with eight rounds. In fact you still have as much ammo as someone with a fully loaded 1911. Enjoy your glock.

Pearce PG-39 grip extension adds 2 rounds (in .40 ... and 3 rounds on 9mm), and/or takes some pressure off that spring; as well as adding a pinky finger rest

Re: Glock 27 Magazine question
Mine seats flawlessly with all nine rounds and one in the pipe.
Tear the mag down and look into it. Maybe a piece of molding flash left over or a malformed spring or not seated properly. It should seat in there just fine fully loaded.
There are several Pearce grip extensions +0, +1 and +2 for the 27. The +2 does take some coaxing to get it topped off. In the end I opted for these +0 base plates from here: http://www.concealablecontrol.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Carried them form 6 months now. Really allows me to index the weapon properly on the draw without adding any additional size to the weapon. I carry a spare 13 round clip in my pocket for a G23.
A FINE purchase I may add! i relly like the smaller size of the Kahr PM9 at times but feel much more at ease carrying 10 rounds of .40cal with a mag of 13 more at the ready. Add to that that I have at least 3000 rounds through that weapon and NOT ONE single failure.

Re: Glock 27 Magazine question
It will break in. Many at my dept carry one light. I do, but that's more of a just in case...I've never, ever, had a Glock fail to feed. Even with my 30sf, with super-tight, hard to rack, pressure against the slide from the mag, it would always work.
Give it some time and it will work fine.
