Sweet! Looks like that would be fun, time permitting. You lost me on the .357 sig, but to each his own. Enjoy it! And find a good hobby while you wait.

Have an XD in 357 sig and really like that caliber. I have 8 1911s in .45 to shoot so i decided to branch out a little(wife also likes 357 sig). Will just shoot the 45 cal 1911s while waiting on the Fusion to come in. Just afraid the the wife will want one once she shoots mine.

I've often thought of picking up a Wilson Combat 1911 in 10mm. I like the 10mm cartridge, although it's scarce and expensive. Getting a 10mm isn't high on my priority list but it's on the list, right after a new deer rifle, a tactical AR rifle, and a J-Frame .357 Magnum. :-)

WANT!!
Do not want to pay for it though.

Hmm... I've never really "benched" my gun before. I wonder how accurate it is without me waving my hands around?

Don't think I've ever seen a 1911 in a .357Sig caliber before. Interesting.. How many rounds does each mag hold? They're small rounds that pack a nice punch. :)

I don't think I have ever seen a 10mm round before in my life. Where does one get those things? Speaking of how expensive 10mm rounds are, the .357Sig round is expensive as well. Scarce, too. Although, I think I went to a few Wal-Mart shops here and there and saw a few boxes (few meaning around 2-3 boxes of Winc. FMJ) and they go for around $27 for 50. Ridiculous. I went to Academy to check out some of their rounds and they have a nice amount of stock of .357JHP in Winchester. Price - 29 bucks. Yikes. I just bought 2 boxes (among other rounds) and headed out to the range and I have to say it was prolly one of the most expensive range trips I had because of those rounds.

Either way, I'm psyched to see the pictures. Please post them up as soon as you can along with range report. Cheers mate! :fire

The 10mm was the precursor to the .40 S&W. It was originally intended to have a higher pressure and velocity than the .45 ACP, but also more stopping power than the 9mm. The FBI evaluated the 10mm, but felt that the recoil was too much for some smaller agents, so it was toned down to the .40 S&W. The relationship is sort of like the .38 special versus the .357 Magnum. Same bullet, just one has a longer case and more powder. I've heard the .40 S&W sometimes referred to as "short and weak". ;-)

The Wikipedia page on the cartridge makes for some interesting reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10mm_Auto

In all reality, the FBI first toned down the 10mm, then found they could get the same ballistics out of a shorter case, hence the .40S&W.
