Monster Jam at Relient Statium posted or not

Post by FL450 »

Does any one know if Monster Jam is considered a major sporting event?
If not do you go thru a metal detector?
Just wondering if ok for Carry or not tomorrow
I love the sound smell of jet fuel in the morning.

It looks like a professional sporting event to me. I'd steer clear of it with a concealed weapon.

IANAL :tiphat:

Why would you consider Monster Jam a sporting event? It a big (and awesome!) show, but not a sport.

I would consider professionals competing for money by driving vehicles to be a sport.

Right. I'm not all that up on exactly what Monster Jam really is.
If it's just sort of a demonstration . . . then maybe not.
But it looks like a competition of some sort. And the competitors appear to be professionals.
So professional sporting event along with other motor sports such as NASCAR.
No carry.

I don't mean to be inciting flaming here or anything, just pointing out the fact that the sporting event rule makes no sense. But according to the logic here, my kids with membership in the US Chess Federation competing at a meet (not in a school or sponsored by as a school activity where the rules go a different direction) where the winners come out with cash prizes...would that be a sport?

Its like the rodeo, you don't have to actually get drafted to a team or anything to be a "Professional" bullrider. You just join the PRBA by sending in a form and paying your dues. Then you can compete and if you do well you can make a living at it. If you do poorly then you can still remain a Professional Bull Rider. Anyone can send in their money and become "Professional" just like they can join the US Chess Association and participate in the US Chess rankings.

Sporting Event is as poorly defined as School ;-)

Its not posted although they search bags and such for alcohol. This is in no fashion a professional sporting event, it is entertainment pure and simple.
