I have to laugh every time I read that they are selling a "turkey thug" shotgun. There are just soooo many places to go with that.
Do those thug turkeys were ski masks?
Do they bully the younger turkeys for their lunch money?

All 4 shotguns are "everyday" prices.

They're just trying to push Turkey hunting products, wait until after most of the hunting seasons are over for more handguns.

I have one of those Remington 870s they are selling for $279. I replaced the stock and pump with a camo plastic stock, and also picked up an 18.5" barrel for it. Over the past year I've used it to kill everything from squirrels and rabbits to a nutria in Louisiana. Great shotgun for the money...and with the short barrel it does double-duty as a home-defense shotgun.

MoJoTexas:
You mentioned shooting a nutria (large ratlike critter for those unfamiliar with them).
I saw a TV show one night where some Louisiana cops were riding in the bed of a pickup truck,
on a road next to a creek/canal. They had spotlights and some kind of rifles, maybe just .22's,
and they were having a grand old time decreasing the nutria population. Looked like fun.
No cleaning required. :-)

We used to walk bayous and rice canals back in the 60's and 70's with a 12V Ray-o-Vac Sportsman and our Ruger 22's. It was great fun! We took my boss who was from Oklahoma (he used his Browning Hi-Power) and his BIL from Colorado who was a game warden there. We ran across an armadillo, which was a treat to both of them because neither of them had ever seen a real, live armadillo. I found out with a little research that at that time they hadn't spread to those areas. (prior to 1850 there were no nine banded armadillos north of the Rio Grande) Nutria are of course another example of bringing in a non-indigenous species to the United States to "improve" things. Like starlings and sparrows and grass carp, Ha! The armadillo came on his own, but seems to have worked out as a favorite symbol of Texas.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:MoJoTexas:

Yeah I shot my nutria just two weeks ago. We left town ahead of the latest round of icy weather, and on Feb 9th it was raining all day where we were hunting (Catahoula Parish, Louisiana). We were working trying to get one of the four-wheelers to start, and we saw three nutria swimming in a nearby pond. After securing permission from the landowner, we went and fetched our shotguns. I had my Kimber .45 with me, but didn't feel like getting it wet, and I had brought a lot more 12 gauge ammo than I had .45 ACP ammo.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:MoJoTexas:

Long story short it took about 5 rounds of #6 12-gauge birdshot to kill one. I would've cleaned it and eaten it, but it was so full of pellets it didn't seem worth the effort. I shot at another one the next day with a rifled slug from about 50 yards and missed. After shooting at them twice, we didn't see them any more, although we kept looking for them every chance we got.

YUP! Inexpensive Remington 870 from Academy was field-tested and proved to be a great shotgun for the money!
