New SR9C & Wifes test

Post by Sidro »

Better half got to shoot her new Ruger this afternoon. Despite going to dentist this morning with abcessed tooth she ran 150 rounds through her new gun. Removed the mag disconnect for her and put flat bottom on mag per her instructions. 115 grain jhp of some kind, monarch fmj, s&b fmj and some type of soft point load. No fte, ftf or any kind of problem with firearm. She is very pleased with her new toy and I get to save on ammo. Fully adjustable sights are good and overall operation of firearm is great according to her. Will install 3.5# trigger connector for her when it comes in.

I highly reccomend this little shooter. While not in the same class with our Kimbers this is a very fine gun and a lot cheaper to shoot. The only thing she did not like was the 17 round mag, as her style of grip fits the shorter mag and grip on the gun. My SR9C performed flawlessly as well. Now we need new holsters.

Didn't realize this was a possibility on the Ruger SR guns. Is it an easy swap like on a Glock?

Supposed to take about 10 minutes to swap. Videos are on youtube showing how and at ghostinc.com. I am going to try and see if I can do it myself.

I agree with your comments about the SR9C. In my opinion it is one of the best (and possibly most underrated) concealed carry weapons around. I would only add that you can buy three SR9C's for the price of one Kimber at today's prices!

SR9C...pretty sweet gun. I had the opportunity to shoot one the other day and loved it.
The trigger and the sights are very nice and the 17 round mag gives you what seems like unlimited fire power.

It's definitely on the short list become my first 9mm.
