The Wild Weasel shows in Kingsland and Buchanan Dam are fun.
I wouldn't plan on spending the day looking at the tables, but you will see small dealers and normal folks buying and selling stuff.

yeah, a couple guys from church usually have tables. I sold probably 75 or so guns to them over 2 years when dad was ill, (sold wayyyy too cheap) and they got resold there.... Now I'm re-buying newer Generations etc. and still selling some I bought that I just never fired, like a PF9 and Diamondback DB380 and probably buying maybe an XD .45 or Glock 30, and another Glock 26 and another Glock 19, and probably an Arsenal SGL41-61 SAIGA 410 if I see one.
I'd sell my customized Remington 870, a guy keeps begging me to sell it, but it's just nice to have

Wild Weasel? Gotta hit that show! Not huge, but a good diversion for the weekend. Maybe on the trip out to the Ace. :biggrinjester:

I'll probably go SUNDAY .... orange hat, gray beard, if you see me gimme the secret CHL handshake, on the off-chance if you have an Arsenal SGL41 or a Glock 26 you no longer need, I might pass money your way. If you DO have either or both of those to sell and can't go tomorrow, let me know and I may go both days.

Well I was gonna go today. looks like I'll go Sunday instead, neighbors and things "came up"

That would explain why we didn't see you at the show... well, that and all the guns grabbing our attention :rolll

Nice show. It's growing.

First time I've ever seen a Colt Pony. I own a Mustang; didn't even know about the Pony till I saw it. But at $800, it's going to be a long while before I add the Pony to my stable. In the meantime, I also saw a Walther PK380, and now I'm starting to think I may want to add one to my .380 collection. My husband's lucky it's his turn to buy the next gun.:

Well, I plan to go tomorrow. I probably shouldn't advertise my orange hat gray beard too much ... last year I was in a store in Marble Falls and out of the blue a lady working there asked "What kind of gun do you have?" I was like huh? I knew I was concealed ... She then said "I saw you at the gun show last weekend, me and my hubby just got our CHLs and I was wondering ...
My hat and beard are pretty noticeable and kayakers, people who post fishing forums around Austin and CHLs all in this area a;ll spo9t me miles away now.... maybe It's time I shave and change hats before criminals find out too lol. But then, maybe they already know, and so I'm left alone. These small towns amaze me. I grew up in Houston, and here people I don't know call me by name and even at the pharmacy people I don't recall meeting and know I haven't seen in 2 years say "aren't you the guy that ...."

Guess I better shower n get dressed n start heading that way.
I seriously doubt I'll find an Arsenal SGL41-61, but I like to support local shows, just because the "antis" hate them. (anti-freedom people I mean, those wanting to close "loopholes" allowing me to sell used refrigerators and other appliances etc without excess paperwork ... I heard they want to close the loophole on old technology light bulbs so the world will be "green" now ... my CFL lightbulbs don't look "green" though, so I think they are confused.)

Hard time deciding between 4 reasonably priced 1911s .... so I bought an XD 45 Stainless because I can put my type of sights on it advantage tactical sights, like all my Glocks have. It lacked the holster, mag carrier and loader since it was "used," (no wear at all that I could tell, maybe 1 box of ammo went through it) but price was not to bad

Interesting thing, this has a thumb safety as well as the grip safety and most I'm finding online don't, guess I'll research some, order sites and ammo.

Looking online at the Stainless Bi-tone Service model .45 with thumb safety .... looks like I got a better deal than I thought :anamatedbanana

Honestly I just wanted a .45 and it was priced ok, and I'd have bought 1911s, except I recalled my sights, and this was the ONLY XD 45 at the show .... I got blessed. :coolgleamA:
Now I wish I hadn't given away all my .45 ammo last year there was none at the show except fmj heavy stuff.
