Where do you train with your black rifle

Post by Beiruty »

There are many shooting ranges where you can hit papers at 100 yrd or so. But what about places where you can train or compete with your rifle like IPSC/USPSA matches?

for dallas: DPC limits to .22 for rifle matches.

There was a thread a while ago that addressed a similar need. From what I've found in a few google searches is that it's incredibly expensive if you go out for the 2 or 3 day courses. I think CompVest might do training.
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson

Wasn't this the same place that was featured in the "Conceal and Carry" show that was on TV last year. If it was it looked like a great place to me!

I don't know if it's the same place, but the name is the same or similar, and IIRC it's in about the same location.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

I know you're in the Dallas area, but I figured I'd mention it for anyone else...

Best of the West in Liberty Hill has lots of tactical bays set up for just this purpose. It's a very nice range, and the place is huge; it sits on 400 acres of land.

I just go to my usual outdoor range during the week (come to work early leave early go shooting). During the week I usually have the place to myself and can do all kinds of moving/shooting drills (this is perfectly ok with the owner)
