Gun deal that didn't happen.

Gun deal that didn't happen.
Figured I would share my gun buying experience that didn't happen.
Inspired to post this after reading the Teamless post.
I've been wanting to add another piece to my small gun collection so I've been browsing the thread on this site and searching around on Texasguntrader. I have a Glock 23 now and found a Glock 27 on TGT for a price I liked. I managed to talk myself into the fact that I needed a 27 and informed the seller that I would take it. This was on a Friday. The seller listed two locations in thier ad they could meet up in. The seller asked if I wanted to meet up on Saturday at the location that was an hour from me. I countered with the other location which is half the distance and time from myself. Seller said they could do that but it would have to be on Sunday. I agreed with Sunday and the seller and I agreed on a time and place. Gave seller my phone number in case something changed. Saturday rolls around no contact with seller and while browsing the TGT site I see that the ad has been bumped up the board to show Saturdays date. hmmmm....thats weird. Perhaps the seller is keeping the ad up in case I back out, oh well, I would probably do the same. Sunday morning rolls around and before heading off to church I send email to seller verifying that we're still on for the time and place. I'm glad I asked. I got a quick repsonse that they're glad I emailed them because they were sorry that they would not be able to make the meeting due to a work conflict. I responded no less than 10 minutes later asking if we could meet up sometime during the week. Crickets ever since........ The ad was gone Sunday morning. It just wasn't meant to be I guess.
I'll continue training with the 27, perhaps try to attend an IDPA event and save my money for a possible 1911, 9mm, hunting rifle, shotgun, 357 snubbie or AR type purchase early next year. So many choices and so little funds.

Happens all the time... I'd rather have someone just call or dash me a note saying they simply changed their mind or got a better offer than just start ignoring PM's / emails / phone - or just not showing up. BUT - a blown deal is not a thing, nothing to get worked up over.

I'm bored with that line. I never use it anymore. My new line is "In 15 minutes everybody will be famous."

It's happened to me before. Dude left me hangin at the meeting place with no
response to my text messages. I finally gave up and left. Weeks later, one day
out of the blue he sends me a text wanting to know if I still had the gun.

Re: Gun deal that didn't happen.
Recently I almost bought a pistol from "a friend of a friend" in another state . . . not going to write a book about it, but let's just say the guy kept dragging his feet and leave it at that. Finally I threw in the towel . . . whereupon he suddenly became eager to close the deal.
Nope.
I figure he was still shopping the gun around, and when he saw the "sure thing" evaporate, he decided to take the "sure thing" after all.
