Why you need a holster!!

Post by OverEasy »

Here is a good example of why you need a holster that covers the trigger, to safely carry a gun!!

Would-be kidnapper shoots own left testicle, police say, then nails left calf.

Updated: 5:03 p.m. CT Nov 15, 2006
WICHITA, Kan. - A botched kidnapping ended with one of the assailants shooting himself in the groin, Wichita police said.

The man had just stuck the gun back into his waistband when it fired, shooting him in the left testicle. He cringed, causing the gun to fire again and strike him in the left calf.

When the shooting ended, the 23-year-old man managed to walk himself into the hospital for treatment, police said. He and his two accomplices, ages 18 and 20, were arrested for aggravated attempted kidnapping and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Can you say "OUCH" ?

I can say "cringed"...But in this case it'll only work twice, maybe three times if you wanna be technical about it...

Darwin was right though... ;-)

He shot himself in the left testicle and all he did was cringe !

I think I'd have done a little more than cringe.

That's one dangerous criminal...dangerous to himself, anyway.

And this was a kidnapping attempt? One wonders is the intended victim watched the whole thing, comprehended it, knocked the guy over, then walked calmly away. Amazing.

Well, at he least he won't have the cojones to try this again.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

I had post before about the holster that I made, and covering the trigger was one of the issues that I made sure to address due to my big hands.
I don't know about you guys but protecting the family JEWELS was high on my priority list when looking for a holster. Also, Frontal carry is off limit for me, PERIOD, plus the CHEEKS would heal better if you had a ND.

On a more serious note, I have been carrying for a few months now and have noticed that I have become subconscient to my holster and gun. Been realizing that the last 2 weeks because it stay put since I think I have found my "sweet spot." Just have to stay awake and look out for signs.

The way I heard it this morning was that he got ahead of himself and while trying to pull the gun quickly, pulled the trigger. After that, and the subsequent "ballectemy", he shoved the gun back in his pocket and pulled it again. Poor fool. Enjoy prison, after the ER of course.
