Experience with Buds gun shop?

This weekend, I finally convinced my lovely wife that I HAD to have a S&W M&P9 pro series. I ordered it from Buds this weekend, but they had credit card payments down, so I had to pay via ACH transfer. The money was taken from my account Monday and the order status at Buds has not switched to shipping yet. They have a message that pops up that ACH's may take up to 4 days to clear even though the money may be withdrawn from your account immediately.

Has anyone here ever bought from them via ACH? How long did it take to receive your firearm? FWIW, the FFL I'm using is one that was already showing up on their site.

I finally found something more frustrating than waiting for your plastic to come in the mail.............waiting for your "plastic" firearm to come in the mail!

Never bought using ACH, but Buds is a top notch operation. If you have any concerns you should call them.

Congrats on having an understanding wife! Sometimes that's the hardest battle in getting a new gun.

I have never used ACH either. I like using a credit card so I can dispute the transaction if someone does me wrong. The good news is, Buds has a good reputation. I don't quite understand the four day delay but I am sure you will see your gun soon.

People who used credit cards to purchase from Buds have had their information stolen and several have had fraudulent charges appear on their credit cards. Over the weekend Buds stopped accepting credit card payments, Buds has since changed servers and is accepting credit card payments again.

I purchased two pistols from Buds in the last three weeks. One was purchased on a Friday evening and was received at my FFL the following Tuesday afternoon; the second was purchased Thursday morning and was received by my FFL the next day.

My only complaint is I used my credit card for payment, so now I am checking for fraudulent charges.

I have used Buds on a couple of occasions. The first was a FN 5-7. I never received the pistol. I did have presence of mind to purchase insurance and the made it right just took awhile.

Since them I have bought two pistols and it was a pleasant transaction. I have purchased throughout Law Enforcement side and had absolutely no problems.

I think over-all they are a great place to deal with and at times great prices.

I have, they were fine. I liked Gallery of Guns better...cheaper and lifetime warranty on guns. Send back to them rather than manufacturer.

Are you saying that you purchased insurance on their shipment of the gun to you? If so, that seems odd, as you are not responsible for the shipment; the sender is. If it never reaches you, it is on the sender.

That is not Buds Policy. I think it should be on Buds! But they don't think that way.

Bud's makes extra by charging for insurance. Honestly UPS is the worst for damaging packages, I get more of theirs torn open than any other carrier. Of course with guns it never harms the gun, only the packaging. Out of all the damaged ones I have seen I have never had one damage the gun. The real benefit of insurance is if it gets lost or stolen during shipment.

I think its usually worth a few bucks to get a no questions asked replacement if whatever you ordered has any value.

My credit card protects me and won't make me pay if I don't receive what I ordered but insurance sounds like a very good idea if you do an ACH payment from your bank account.

I have never ordered from Bud's, but they seem like that have an excellent selection and very good prices. I think that it was very good that they announced that there were problems with their credit card payments and they took corrective action to fix them.

FYI I have received a lot of new and some used guns as transfers, Bud's is a good place to deal with. They are sometimes slow due to the sheer volume of sales they get, but their prices are real good. Since they do not charge sales tax it is hard to beat their prices.
