Optics for AR Pistol

Post by pbwalker »

Looking for some suggestions or ideas for my AR pistol.

100 yards is about as max as I'd ever shoot this thing (maybe a random 150 / 200 for fun, at the range)...think of it as more of a truck gun / home defense weapon. CQB.

Should I look at an EOTech? Maybe just irons? I honestly have no idea where to look as this is my first AR pistol.

I really like my EOTech but I think it is a bit heavy for a pistol, particularly a pistol as heavy as an AR pistol. I'd go with something lighter.

Try a simple red dot, you are not going to get much range out of that gun. Think 50 yds max and all over the paper if your lucky at 100.

I would go with an Aimpoint Micro or and knock off from Vortex. They are light weight, clear, and accurate.

Here is a link for the Vortex

My preference is the Aimpoint obviously due to superior quality and ruggedness.
