Does HB823 change Texas's "peaceable journey" stat

Post by stevie_d_64 »

HB 823 by Rep. Terry Keel (R-Austin) & Sen. Juan Hinojosa (D-McAllen), which takes important steps towards clarifying that law-abiding Texans may carry a handgun for protection in their vehicles without a Concealed Handgun License (CHL)

I have seen elsewhere that Texas does not grant a "peaceable journey" status to citizens on its highways...

It appears that this bill changes that, to where it is not a damnable/prosecutable offence to have a gun in your vehicle, regardless if you are licenced to carry or not...

Of course your criminal history/status could trump that...

Just another observation today...
