Big Town Gun Show Anyone ?

Post by bigolbigun »

Just wondering if any DFW members might be going to Big Town on Sat. or Sun. As for me I'm not sure. Weekends this time of year are extremley busy. Plus the last show I went to in August was so hot and smelly in there. Some cool stuff but not enough to justify the mile hike from the parking lot. Just my 2 cents. Maybe this one will be better. It would take only a small twist of my arm to change my mind. I'll be checking in here all weekend.

Hmmm.

I made the mistake of going into Bass Pro yesterday and saw something I didn't know that I needed to have....

Soooooo:
Could someone look for Gamo Air Rifles, specifically the Shadow or the Viper, at the show, and find out from who & how much?

It would be most appreciated.

I went yesterday morning, they didn't have a whole lot.Wait,I take that back, they had the usual people selling jerky,2 or 3 different tables of that. They had some big fat guys selling nazi crap,oh and I saw several old pistols that looked like they had been run over and dropped from a 10th floor window for almost as much as a brand new one.Gee,I sure blew $7.00,but I didn't have anything else going.sj

Made it out to the gunshow with the The Marshal and another fine gentleman, found some .308 reloads by Dallas Reloading, quite a deal I thought for $25 for 50 rounds of 150gr SPBT. Thats half the cost of the good stuff at the stores! Best bet for me since I can't reload yet.

Got to fondle some RRA AR15 M4 variants, definitely going to have to pick one up this spring.

We went to the Big Town show last Saturday for the 1st time. Only about three tables with NIB pistols and lots of rifles & shotguns. We were looking for specific guns, a S & W MP Compact & a 1911. We are just beginning to check out 1911's and the choices are mind boggling. :???:
There were no S & W MP compacts but several well priced ($399.00), full sized MP 9mm & MP 40's. Finally wound up buying a jar of home canned pear relish that turned out to be very good.
Since I've never been to this show, I don't have a way of comparing but it didn't seem to be all that great. Is it just the holiday season? I didn't drive nearly a hour both ways from Frisco, in heavy traffic, to buy pear relish. I would rather chew off my arm than get into the 635 traffic again and will wait for the Denton show from now on!
