Wife was pulled over

My wife was pulled over on her way home for work (she is an RN and works nights) for speeding. She had forgotten her purse at home and did not have her DL, CHL or proof of insurance. Her gun was in the drivers door pocket in a holster. My wife explained the situation to the officer and of course mentioned about the gun. The League City officer asked her a few questions, told her to sit tight, then came back with a warning, she did not even write my wife a ticket!

I believe that having a CHL and the fact that my wife was respectful, probably saved us some money. This is the second time my wife has screwed up but let go.

I wouldn't count on the CHL getting you or her out of tickets. It sure didn't help with the one I got last year.

I have more than a few credentials that didn't keep me from getting a ticket.

After averaging a ticket a year for the first 8 years of having a DL I found a foolproof way to not get tickets anymore!

I stopped speeding.

...most likely not the CHL...but the fact she's a nurse, that saved her the paperwork...cops love nurses...never know when you're gonna need one...

My neighbor worked for D/FW public safety (at the time he was LEO and Fire) and was stopped in Arlington. He said he let his badge "accidently" show as he was getting his license out. The Arlington officer saw it and the following conversation was related to me:

LEO - "Are you P.D.?"
Neighbor - (Humbly) "Well, yessir. I work for D/FW."
LEO - "Weeeellll, you should've known better then."

And he kept writing. My neighbor kind of shrugged it off saying it was hard to argue with that kind of logic.

A good attitude and a little respect can go a long way. A bad attitude and a loud mouth can go a long way too, Its just somewhere I'd rather not see.

I have asked my wife to not to drive so fast but she insists that everyone else is driving to slow

I, on the other hand, drive slower and have less visits from a LEO.

I slowed down to save money on gas. It turns out I save money on tickets as well.

This is absolutely true! Doesn't always mean "no ticket" but daughter is an RN (works nights, ICU and ER).

She has received several speeding tickets when not in her scrubs and stethoscope (even the CHL has never helped), but has had a warning every time she has been stopped going to or from work. The last time, the officer (one that has stopped her before) said "they try not to write nurses because they might need one someday" but also said he would HAVE TO if she didn't slow down!

My mother in law hangs her hospital badge from her reaview so even when not in scrubs she avoids the ticket.

Hardly foolproof. I bet you cant go a full day of driving without an infraction of some kind. I have been pulled over many a time for no reason other than fishing. Doesn't help i worked nights in Houston.
