If someone could just get old Bloomjerg to answer (A REAL ANSWER) as to how my firearms here in Texas have any effect on what amounts to gang-bangers shooting people in NYC...of course, all you would hear from the man is the same stuff you always here from him; the same tired Brady Campaign talking points and twisted anti-2A "logic". But, he did tell a little of the truth even if he didn't mean to...the problem is in those young punks not caring about the value of an individual life. Now, why would THAT be, hmm?

"New York has the toughest gun laws in the country, but Bloomberg said the city alone cannot stop the onslaught of shootings. "We need the federal government to step up," he said."

I realize this is preaching to the choir BUT.... Any one see the absurdity in the argumment for more gun laws. NYC has had the strictest handgun law beginning in the 1930's with passage of the Sullivan Act and even more since then. It's not working because he needs the federal government? "rlol" Canada's next on his request list.

I took at second to glance at the comments and just had to shake my head and rolll my eyes at the comment that these shooting were because the "racist(white people). . . . but your race created this behavior with your treatment of blacks over centuries . . ."

Why does it always need to be about race? I thought it was as as simple as saying, "no criminal behavior". I don't care what color or background some is, if they are out shooting 11 year-olds in a drive by, I condemn the behavior.

"These people come with guns and shoot at anyone. They don't care if there are children around," said Charles Walters
Exactly!!! It is not a firearm issue - it is a social issue!!
New York has the toughest gun laws in the country, but Bloomberg said the city alone cannot stop the onslaught of shootings. "We need the federal government to step up," he said.
Mayor... you do realize that the only people that will lose the right to own a firearm will be those law-abiding citizens, don't you?? See point 'A" above.

Methinks Bloomberg doth have a severe case of IACI.

Gunfire erupted today near the massive West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn -- not far from Mayor Bloomberg was marching -- as the entire city reeled from a epidemic of shootings over the past two days.

By noon today, a total of 39 people had been shot in the city since Saturday morning, authorities said.

At just before noon, a gunman fired into the air several blocks away from the start of the West Indian Day Parade route in Crown Heights -- not hitting anyone -- before hopping into a cab and fleeing.

COUNCILMAN, PUBLIC ADVOCATE STAFFER BUSTED AT PARADE

Bloomberg, who has decried the recent spate of gun violence, had just started marching.

Witnesses said the unidentified gunman got out of the car at E. 94th and Winthrop streets, and then ran off after tossing his gun. Cops caught him down the street after Macing him.
The toll now stands at 39 people shot.

The final tally was 42 shot over the three day weekend in New York City where guns are banned.

"There are just too many guns on the streets and we have to do something about it," he said, and urged for more federal control and stricter gun control laws across the country.

I guess he doesn't want to believe his system does not work, if only there was a uniform world wide ban of guns.

Houston, which is one forth smaller than NYC had one gun death, one pool drowning and a baby mauled to death by a pit bull.

Sorry Big Jim! Thanks, I stand corrected. I was pulling from memory (what I have left anyway) from a report I did back in the sixties. Shouldv'e checked my facts. I do remember (I believe correctly) that shooting fatalities increased after the Sullivan Act due to people switching to long guns since they were legal and still available.

Been there, passing through a couple of times. The only reasons to return are the Statue of Liberty, the new towers and the memorial attached thereto, and some of the better pizza in the country. But not until some of my rights are not forfeit just by crossing a line.

Then CLEARLY the solution is to ban all guns, federally mandate floaties and euthanize all pit bulls.

THEN and ONLY then will the uneducated unclean masses be sufficiently controlled...er....safe!

You'll need to keep criminals away from Hardware/plumbing/electrical stores and ban office supply stores from carrying staplers
Wait no, this is illegal so they'd never do it since criminals abide by laws right?

Well, I guess it IS legal if they fill out the proper forms and pay the required tax/fee to the ATF for manufacturing a firearm.

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME (or anywhere else)

I wonder how long till the breechface "washer" comes loose and the stapler blows up in his hand.

I wonder when ATF is going to pay him his visit.

My feeling is that this thing might survive a few rounds before it realizes its true potential to become a grenade.
