RIA 1911 - replacement sights

Post by ghostrider »

I'm looking for recommendations for night sights for the RIA compact model with the GI sights:

The rear dovetail is apparently Colt standard. I will have a dovetail machined in the slide to
replace the staked in factory sight.

thanks.

My RIA 1911 9MM before

And after:

This was a sentimental transformation and pretty pricey for a RIA pistol. But sometimes sentimental overrides common sense. My only situation with this setup is the group is about 1" high at 20 yds and I cannot adjust it out with the rear sight. So I need a taller front site which I have not obtained as of yet.

I guess I didn't write the original post very clearly - I fully intend to replace both front and rear sights.
My understanding is the rear site is a Colt 1911 Series 70 side dovetail. The front is staked and I will
have that machined for a dovetail also.
