Bargain Hunter Outdoors, Weatherford?

Post by Rex B »

I just got a Groupon ad for this place.
Never heard of it, but it says they have a big inventory of new and used guns.

Anyone out that way have a review of the place?
Selection and prices?
Worth a trip?

Rex, when that place first opened a year or two ago, my wife and I "stopped in"...it's not a great, big place. Seems to always have cars outside. I recall: good, affordable bow range(20yds, several lanes), pretty good selection of firearms, used/consignment stuff too. I've been meaning to stop back by for a while now...I'm taking a day off today, so let me see if I can "shoot" by for you and report back...anything in particular you were huntin' for? (...feel free to PM me...)

Well, the first one I bought $100 worth of ammo, no problems. Second one I bought a NAA mini mag revolver with conversion cylinder for $245, no problem. Third one I went in to buy a glock 19 they had for 484.99 was told that they would not take the dealsaver for pistols cause they were on sale. I emailed the manager and got the ok, went to buy the glock and a $600 gun safe ( on two seperate transaction) and was told the gun safes are on sale and could not use it on them. They called the manager and he told them that I could choose to get the gun safe or the glock and then no more dealsavers on any sale items, I bought the safe. Went in today while manager was there to se about the glock, he told me I would have to pay $529.99 to use my dealsaver vs. the $484.99 it was marked. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice and helpful people, but prior to buying the dealsavers I went to look around and asked what the dealsavers were good for and was told anything in the store, you can only use one per transaction. I think they don't realize that the dealsaver cost $50, I think they are looking at it like they are losing $100 on each one used. Prior to seeing the dealsaver though I had never been in there store, so I was a potential customer from here on out.

tsk They pay good money to bring in new business, and then use the lure to create a negative.

I usually just wait until Cabela's sends me one of those $100 off $500 coupons and then go buy a gun.

So much for that. I don't think I've bought a gun from Cabelas any other way

I have found them to be a little expensive. Instead I do most of my shopping at Gibsons. Good prices and they can order just about anything.
