Heads up on some Rem 22 Golden Bullets

That's really odd. This is my favorite .22 rimfire ammo. I have probably shot close to 10K rounds of this stuff and never had anything like what is pictured in the link. It is the most accuare in several of my 22 rifles and in my Advantage arms conversion kit for my Glock - and it is the most reliable in that conversion kit. I have tried almost every brand of .22 rimfire ammo out there and keep coming back to the Rem Golden. The only thing I like better is the CCI stinger, but when a box of that stuff is 2/3 th cost if a box of 9mm, then I don't need it unless it is as a self defense round. Maybe I have just gotten lucky up to now with the Rem Golden. Rimfire ammo is more prone to misfires that center fire stuff, but for 550 rouds for $20, I will keep buying it.

I have also had better luck with the Rem Golden bullets than some on the forums who trash talk it bigtime. Got two old "backup bricks" of it in the gun safe now. However, when the best blend of reliability and accuracy are needed, the most consistent I've found is after followng the recommendation of an instuctor at one of the Appleseed Clinics: CCI Standard Velocity. It's around $5 per 500 more than others and somewhat more difficult to locate except on the net, but well worth it to for our high-volume hunter ed purposes, due primarily minimal misfires.

I use Remington Golden Bullets exclusively in my Advantage Arms kit on my Glock 26. It is one of the few brands that AA recommends. But as you say, "I have tried almost every brand of .22 rimfire ammo out there," I would caution you to take note of what I have found. The AA barrel does not have a "fully supported" chamber. This allows for expansion of a round that's too "hot." The photo below shows the affects of using CCI Mini Mags in the AA kit. Note the bulge on the case. This bulge appeared on every round of Mini Mag, and never on the GBs. I sent the photo to CCI and they strongly advised I discontinue use of the Mini Mags in the AA kit. Just advising of a potential hazard.

Well I USED to shoot Remington .22s almost exclusively. In the last few years I have had way too many duds, and slam fires with Remington ammo for my taste. I have a CCMG .22 LR conversion for my AR. That was what ripped it for me with the Remington rim fire ammo. Out of the first two 28 round mags I had five doubles, one triple, and more misfires than I wanted to count. I switched to some Federal ammo I had with me and no problems.

Looking at the pictures in the link, I'd say the gun fired without being fully in battery.
Look at the third picture. It looks very similar to the pic posted by G26ster.
I will continue using this ammunition.

I just want to make sure that the purpose of my post was understood. I use RGBs quite a bit, and exclusively in my AA kit. I was addressing using other non-AA recommended ammo in the Advantage Arms .22lr conversion kit. The reason for the bulge in the CCI Mimi Mag case is from pressure where the AA kit chamber is not fully supported. The bulge does not go around the entire case. Only in this unsupported area. This does not happen with the golden bullets.

I still have several of the 550 boxes RGB. They worked fine in my Berreta Neos pistol, but they were pure heck in the Colt Umarex I had for a while. I have since discovered or should I say I was "clued in" by the guys at the range, that the Federal bulk box 533's I think are more reliable. I have since switched to the Federals, and have yet to have a single problem or misfire, or no fire etc. I use them in my M&P 15/22 as fast as I can as well as in my Sig 1911-22 . They just keep running, and they are cleaner. I have tried some of the RGB in my M&P and they seem to do fine, although they make more of a mess to clean up. From now on it's Federal for me.

I have a few boxes of this in the gun room right now. I use this in several 22s I own with no issues. To be honest I don't look for my 22 brass when I am done. It's why I shoot 22s some days , I just don't want to look for the brass that afternoon.

I've fired probably at least 1,500 rounds of this Remington ammo in 3 different pistols (1 revolver and 2 semiautos) and my M&P15-22, and I've never had a case rupture yet like that. I've had the occasional dud round, but never a rupture. It's not my favorite ammo. I prefer the federal blue box and various iterations of CCI ammo. They seem to feed more reliably and never any duds, but the Remington is cheap and plentiful, and I have a bunch of it on hand, so I'll keep shooting it.
