Got a new toy (FN FNAR .308) Pics

Post by RSJ »

Picked up an FN FNAR about a week ago and took her to the range for some breaking in. Somehow my FNAR came with two 20rd mags and one 5 rd mag, which is great, because I believe extra mags are >$50.00

I shot roughly 1in groups at 100 yards out of the box! Outshot my good friends M1A EBR!!!!
I put an explore optics 4-16X50 mil dot scope with a sun shade and covers, and a bipod besides that she is stock.

My sig 556 is above, and the FNAR (I have the 20in fluted barrel model) is below (please ignore the Ron Paul sticker if it will take this gun thread into politics :tiphat: )

Very nice addition to the collection! I haven't told the wife unit yet, but my next purchase just may be a semi-auto .308, most like a little more entry level, but serviceable. Again, nice rifle!!!

I have the exact same model FNAR, and love it. If it's like mine and you really want to see accuracy that is mind blowing try shooting Hornady 155 Grain A-Max Match loads in it. I would also like to add I recently got to handle a 16" version and its significantly lighter than mine.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

I never knew there was a 16" version. To the OP, I'm sure you will love you FNAR and will be able to dial in which load it likes best.

I'm jealous! I once got to hold one but that is the extent of my experience with that particular rifle.

On the day I bought my M1A, there was an FNAR right next to it on the shelf....for exactly the same price as the M1A. I bought the M1A because it was the culmination of a lifelong love affair, but I could be happy with the FN, and someday I'll own one.
