My M&P compact takedown lever won't stay down most of the times either, but I just keep a finger on it when removing the slide. I'll be interested to hear about your experience with S&W service.

Mine doesn't stay down either. Checked on the m&p forums and its extremely common. I've managed to get used to dealing with it. Curious what S&W has to say.

I've got two .45s and two 9mms, all full-sized, and I don't think that any of mine stay down. Occasionally they do, but most times, not.
