My New FS2000 and Stag Arms AR15

This week was a fun week. I've been trying to change out all my rifles to some that are more "left handed friendly" and think I've finally done it. Picked up two FS2000s and a Stag Arms 8L. I also have a Stag Arms 8L PLUS incoming.

FS2000
I purchased both an ODG and a Black. As soon as I purchased the black one I ran across a Stag Arms 8L and purchased it. Took it to the range and it was absolutely GREAT so I decided to purchase another 8L with the PLUS package. I'm going to tuck my Black FS2000 away in the safe and will not shoot it (probably sell it at a later date but who knows...).

I LOVE ODG so that rifle is all field stripped/cleaned/lubed and ready to go to the range. I use an Aimpoint H-1 optic mounted on a QD LaRue mount and it co-witnesses perfectly with the iron sights. I will probably end up taking off the front sight but may leave it on for emergencies. My sling attachment will be an Urban E.R.T. (I have a black one but need to order an ODG one because mine is "missing".....hmmmm).

I'm not going to add the tri-rail because I really don't need it, just liked the looks of it. But I don't want to add any weight since the rifle balances great for me.

Stag Arms 8L (Left handed piston model)
What can I say, another perfect rifle for me since I shoot left handed. I'm on tons of gun forums and don't know why I didn't know (or remember) that Stag Arms made left handed AR15s. Well, since I ran across one at the Lewisville gunshow, the rest is history. I've already had this to the range and shot approximately 200 rounds with no malfunctions.

I changed the handguards out for MOE since I just liked the look of them better and didn't want to add weight with the aluminum rail pacakages (like the Diamondhead V-RS which I thought looked great). Only attachment I'm adding to the MOE handguard is a Magpul sling attachment which is on it's way to me. I do have a green Lasermax but just not sure if I'm going to use it or not.

I use an Urban E.R.T. sling on this rifle and an Aimpoint H-1 Optic on a QD Larue mount, the raised model LT751. It's not as blocky as their other raised mount and is just the right height to co-witness the flip up sights. I don't normally use any iron sights but these (Diamondhead) sights were great.

I'm going to install a LWRC chrome silicone buffer spring and a POF rolling cam and that's that only mods I'm doing to the 8L.

How is the trigger on the F2000? I heard mixed reviews on all bullpup style triggers.

Haven't shot the FS2000 yet. I so wanted to go today but mom and a friend are coming over for lunch and dominoes And then Tuesday I'll be eating a big ole fat steak at Ruth's Chris.........so it will be late in the week before I can go to the range.

I must say that I'm not all that experienced with rifle triggers so they all feel fine to me. Now, pistols, that's a different story.

I also read that bullpup triggers aren't great but I don't think that's going to matter to me since I just shoot at the range. I will post the differences between the FS2000 and the Stag but I'm not up on the correct terminology to use to describe triggers. I'll do a little research and see what I can come up with that may be beneficial to anyone.

Trigger terms and adjustments are pretty much the same for rifles as for pistols. The only real differences is that a well tuned rifle tends to have a lighter trigger than a pistol. But terms like "gritty," "heavy," "crisp," "smooth," "takeup," overtravel," etc., are the same for both and mean pretty much the same things.

OK then..........I'll take both rifles to the range this week and see what I think about the triggers. I'm thinking the Stag will be different than the FS2000 since the FS2000 is a bullpup but I'll keep an open mind of course

After getting my FS2K I concluded that the trigger is serviceable. It is heavy and mushy, but the reset is nice. You can find an aftermarket kit that will improve the trigger pull, however for my application I don't see a need to alter mine.

QB, so how does this little beauty perform? I thought I was close to getting my first AR, a Sig, and then I was reminded of the FS2000 and H&K UMP. Although very nice, I don't think I'm interested in the UMP. The bullpup, however, has always intrigued me and this one is very nice.

I also welcome the input from anyone else that has one.

Actually I liked my Stag so much that I decided to sell my FS2000 and it's being shipped out next week. So I can't report on it. I know I'll regret selling it but I barely have time to go to the range anymore and thought I'd just stick with a couple of rifles that share the same kind of components/parts.

I sold the regular Stag 8L when I recieved my Stag 8L Plus. The second rifle I mention is going to be another 8L Plus, I think. Will accessorize them a little differently but basically just want a backup/spare rifle.

I decided to just stick with the Aimpoint H-1 and so I also sold my LaserMax Uni-Green.

Sorry I can't help out with a review of the FS2000.

Well it was on auction for awhile, and then I removed it from auction and an individual emailed me offering to purchase it. If the deal falls through I will post it here for sale and let you know. Wasn't a killer deal but the cheapest out there. Sorry I didn't think to post it locally.
