PSC This Weekend

Post by TheRising »

Hello Guys,

I am finally somewhat settled in here in Clearlake (still in the hotel though). I am planning on making a trip over to PSC on Saturday if the conditions are even marginal. My question is this: does PSC have a little tour thing that they will take me on when I go to check the place out?

Thanks again,

Jon

There are no organized tours of PSC, but I plan to be there this Saturday morning around 8:00 am. I'd be happy to show you around. The IPSC monthly match is this Saturday, so you'll be able to see their match.

The Idpa match is on the 27th. You should come out and shoot with us. I'll be SO for the match so introduce yourself.

Jason are you going to shoot IDPA on the 27th? I sent the Mrs. of your a cuple of PM's a while back trying to get together with you.

TheRising, Both the gun shows at reliant and the George R. Brown convention centers are pretty big. There is another thread about it around here somewhere.

Roger-
Yes, I am going to shoot on the 27th. I would just about guarantee that we have met each other and just didn't know it!

If you are SO'ing the match......I will immediately recognize anyone that I do not know that I know (Say that five times really fast)

I was supposed to go out of town this weekend or I would have scheduled a shoot with you at PSC today. I think I might shoot over there tomorrow if you would like to meet up. I know TheRising wants to see the place and we could all meet up after church.

Off to Reliant when the doors open if the rain holds off.

Jason, I'm sure your right about crossing paths. I am in Missiissippi right now but I'm headed towards the house. I should be home tonight. I have to make a stop in Louisiana and get rid of 6500gal of resin then I can start towards the house.
I might be able to meet up with ya'll tomorrow but my plate is kinda full. Let me know if you do plan on meeting up.

Greetings--

Slight thread hijack here-- but.....

We expect to be in Baytown on the 27th. If we get the work done, we'd like to come by PSC and shoot at the match. I *might* even get Robin to shoot.
Questions--
will the front gate(s) be open or will we need to make arrangements to get in for the match ?

Is there a sign up table easilty found ?

Thanks--

Piney-
The front gates will be open. When you drive into the range you will see a rifle range on your left...before the next small rifle range (22 range) there will be a place to turn left into the handgun area (Range 2) You will see people driving back there and if you have any trouble just ask someone. I look forward to shooting with you!

Piney, check here for information on PSC

I think they still charge $15 for non members to shoot the monthly matches.
It's a great club with some really good people.

Elgato, If I don't meet up with Jason next weekend I'll let you know. I'm sending you a PM about another subject. I've decided my next toy purchase is going to be a Springfield 1911 A1. I want to start shooting CDP at the IDPA matches. (I'm sure that will make loongtooth happy. another 1911 shooter)

Jason I'm sending you a PM as well.

I think there's been a tiny increase to $18 for non-PSC members. Still the best value for that 18 bucks you'll find.

And Roger: CDP all the way! ;-)

We hated doing it, but we did have to raise the match fees for the first time in the nine year history of the IDPA match. PSC Members' match fees went from $10 to $12 and non-member fees went from $15 to $18. PSC charges us a $6 non-member fee for shooting the match. We've been eating the extra $1 for about 2 or 3 years.

Our IDPA match is totally self-sustaining and we don't look to PSC for any funding. We feel it's our duty to support our own match, since PSC spends a lot of money providing an excellent facility for action pistol shooting. The IPSC guys do the same. In fact, there is a major renovation coming this March that will allow us to do more in the pistol bays.

I know you weren't complaining about the fee increase, but Marc and I have been using every opportunity to explain why the fees went up.

Chas.
