Female Non-Shooter's Honest Account

Post by doc540 »

Though far from perfect, I think it's an honest and useful piece.

Amazingly, it's published in the FemLeft publication, "ELLE".

I think I saw this posted here before but, it's an interesting article.. worth reading to understand mindset of those that may be opposed and those that may be swayed.

Without a doubt, the fact that ELLE published such a piece speaks volumes of positives.

Here's a link to page one of the article... The OP link jumps to page 3..

Very well written piece. Sadly there are many who will never be convience and will always be the one hiding behind the couch while the BG tries to break down the door. They have been so conditioned to accecpt that it's the government's job to protect them. Sad really.

Except for a totally unnecessary and offensive expletive; but I think using words that are offensive to conservative folks and not polite in most mixed company (who can usually craft less offensive ways to express emotion) are just another way of the lefty fruitcakes to differentiate themselves from me and what I believe. Having said that, the article is a bit of a breakthrough.

The one line that stood out for me was "It occurred to me that maybe my ignorance about guns was itself dangerous."

That's the first time I ever heard Drill Instructors described that way.

Ain't that the truth. I went through basic training at Lackland AFB October 1968 and I can vividly remember my Technical Instructor's face, comments, encouragements, etc  . (In the Air Force they are TI's and not Drill Instructors - at least in 1968.)

Sorry, don't mean to drift off topic.

Written by obviously a liberal, but curiously positive of her whole experience. Are times a changing?

Cognitive Dissonance is the coin of the liberal realm.
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.
