Area 3
800 block of Flintridge Avenue: A homeowner stopped an attempted burglary at 2:10 a.m. on Friday, March 2. During the night, the victim was awakened by a motion detector alarm installed on the second story outside balcony through which the home had been entered during a previous burglary. Armed with a legally owned handgun, the homeowner went outside and encountered a Latino male, approximately 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds. After the victim made eye contact with the man, said “Get out of here” and fired a warning shot in the air, the would-be burglar ran out of the backyard.
