Nueces Republican Party County Convention 14 Apr 12

Post by O.F.Fascist »

I attended the convention today, it was an interesting learning experience for me.

I also got to speak with several local politicians.

I asked Todd Hunter, state representative district 32, if we would get concealed carry on campus passed this year. He claimed to be very much in favor of it, and volunteered that he was also going to support open carry.

I asked Raul Torres, running for Senate District 20 to take Chuy Hinojosa's seat, how he felt about concealed carry on campus, he seemed a bit wishy washy on it. He said something to the effect of "It's one of those issues where the supporters are passionate about, but not a lot of other people care about as such it wasn't going to be a priority." He also said that if his constituents made it known that was something they supported that he would support it as well. I told him I would make sure that I and other supporters of it would be contacting him when it comes up for a vote. I will support Raul over Chuy because Chuy supported concealed carry on campus, but when the schools started crying about it he flip flopped.
