AR Guys...What Is This Part??

I just finished putting together my first rifle and as with any build of ANYTHING I put together I have parts left over.
I've functioned checked it up to the point of firing it and everything works as it should.
This was from the lower parts kit.

I hate it when I take things apart and then after I put it back together there are extra parts left over. :banghead:

I don't know what that is. I haven't taken mine apart yet.

I am not an AR guy but that looks a lot like a nickel to me.
Might those other things be a bolt catch plunger and spring?

Taped to a target 100 yards away. After you put a neat little .223" hole in it, you have a souvenir. :thumbs2:

Its a 6.8 but I like your idea.
Also, maybe I'll glue it to the bolt release to make for a larger surface area.
