There are been some post lately on finding an Attorney to handle CHL shooting - just in case. I would like to know what you think your chances of being involved in a CHL shooting would be.

Very slim chance, but a chance nonetheless. I rarely go to questionable areas of any cities, but walking into some random act of robbery or a carjacking can happen anywhere.

People here probably utilize good awareness skills and avoid potential trouble, further lowereing their chances.

Or a workplace shooting....been there, done that...got the t-shirt to prove it.

That was my motivation to finally get started on applying for my CHL.

Although I agree with all of the above posts, I probably am more likely than most as I am in some bad areas of town periodically as are most people in a service type of business.

Even with that, I think the chances are slim, but a chance none the less.

The key is being aware of your suroundings.

Very slim chance in my case since I don't have much of a social life

Actually, that's only half joking. I don't go to bars, we rarely get a chance to go out and eat, and when we do it's local places and the risk is low.

I think my area of risks are walking into a situation at a stop and rob, filling my gas tank early in the morning, and coming home to someone in the house. None of them that likely. Heck, if the odds were a lot higher, and I had to go, I would carry a rifle, the pistol would be relegated to backup!

Methinks as time rolls on, as society decays, as the terrorists and illegals become more brazen the chances increase.

As I have stated before, if anoter major storm heads this way, if you saw what I saw when we evacuated for Rita, you would agree.

Don,t become complacent.

Anygun.

Most likely never. However, when you need to be armed you REALLY need to be armed and I want to make sure that I'm ready should the situation ever arise.

The scale starts off too high. If I think there's a one in a thousand chance I'll need to draw a gun, I'm not going willingly.

I don't carry because I think I'll need it. I carry because I can never know when that one in a million incident will start to unfold in my immediate area.

Whats the old saying:

"Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it."

Its such a cliche, I know...
