Two venerable American gun manufacturers — Remington and Colt — could head for the West their weapons helped win if New York and Connecticut force them to implement microstamping technology.

Let's send a delegation to show how warm and welcoming the Texas people (and our business climate) are!

if they convince all criminals to register their stolen guns, then they could identify what stolen gun was registered by whom, but then that criminal would say "I loaned it to Billy" and Billy would say he loaned it to Bob, and Bob would say he did have it but some other criminal stole it from him and there is no honor among thieves now and didn't the last criminal stealing it register it? Then Bob could suggest that a law be passed requiring all stolen guns to be registered or else it will be a crime to use one in a crime... so if all stolen guns are registered to a particular criminal, it still doesn't show who committed any particular crime ... but criminals will invest in brass catchers ... or use revolvers, which some do already anyway.


So ... aftermarket firing pins ...

Criminals would never think to .. after registering their freshly stolen firearm, they'd never think to file the microstamp off while they file off a serial number right?
