Fifteen-year-old faces manslaughter charge in shooting

Post by Mithras61 »

I didn't see anything on this report. I thought I'd share the story for two reasons. First, I was hoping to get a little broader exposure in case someone knows something more about this, and second, the report implies that the gun fired itself (I love those self-aware handguns! )
Houston police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on a manslaughter charge in the fatal shooting of another teen in north Houston over the weekend.
Authorities said the suspect was handling a semiautomatic pistol in the back seat when the gun went off and a bullet pierced the front seat...

Some years back, my father was walking down the sidewalk when a car slowed and a couple of teens eyeballed him . . . he KNEW they were up to no good, and then one of them lit a cherry bomb to throw at him . . . and dropped it in the back seat, where it went off.

Wonder if this was a similar situation, but with more serious consequences.

Looks like a case of uneducated firearm handling. Such a shame.
