Best Gun Belt for under $50

Post by frgking12 »

I'm fairly new to the Texas CHL forums and concealed carry in general, but I'd like to share with y'all an AWESOME gun belt that I stumbled across for less than $50. It's called an Aker B21 and I bought it for $42.42 plus shipping. It's made from high quality leather and it's reinforced with a heavy duty polymer.

Prior to this belt I tried one of the Amish Gun Belts which was in the same price range and made of good thick leather, but it was not nearly rigid enough to support my IWB Old Faithful Holster, my SR9C, and my spare magazine pouch.

Next, I tried the Uncle Mike's Reinforced Instructor's belt. It was closer to what I was looking for, but not quite. It was more rigid than the Amish belt, but I still had some undesired "gangsta" sagging from time to time. Also, it was made out of nylon and I wanted something a little more professional (read: leather).

I searched and searched the internet and all of the reinforced leather gun belts I could find were anywhere from $75 to $150. Being a devout Dave Ramsey fan (read: I'm pretty frugal), this was just too much to spend on a belt. Somehow, through my countless hours of watching youtube, I stumbled across a review of the Aker B21 gun belt. The youtuber demonstrated the gun belt by placing all of his carry gear on the belt, buckling it, then holding it with two hands near the buckle. To my amazement, the thing didn't sag or buckle, but just suspended in midair, fully supporting the weight of the gun and all!

(The belt shown on the preview image of the embedded video is not the Aker B21 - he demonstrates it 6:02)

Needless to say, I was sold. I searched for the Aker B21 on google, found it at a great price, ordered it on 10/18, a Thursday, and received it on 10/23, the following Tuesday. The company I ordered it from is in New York and I'm in Texas, so it was much quicker than I would have thought.

I've only had the belt for 1 day, but I can tell you already this thing is superb. It totally blows my old belts out of the water, and I can guarantee you won't find one better for less than $100! Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Wow, that is a really great video to show just what a different a "Gun Belt" vs. a regular belt can make. Thanks!

Question: Can one swap out the keeper or the buckle?
Yes, it has heavy duty snaps that allow you to change the buckle and keeper.

I recently found out about Jerry Bissell leather gun belt for $55 shipped. I have not bought from him but definitely will if I need another leather gun belt. There is a thread about folks buying from him on sigforum and it is all positive.

These are the best leather belts that I have owned.
They are compariable to the 3/8 thick Hoffner that I bought in 1987 and
